On August 5,6 & 7th, the Canandaigua Yacht Club Ensign fleet 23 will hold 3 days of Ensign sailing.. All sailors are invited to come and enjoy what is guaranteed to be wonderful Canandaigua breezes and lots of sun and fun.

Location:     Canandaigua Yacht Club, on West Lake Rd. near the top of Canandaigua Lake. Once in Canandaigua, take Parrish St. (at south end of village off Main St, about 1/2 mi. N of the lake) for a short distance, then turn left on West Lake Rd. The club is several miles south.

Format:       The Womens’ Regatta will be held on Friday August 5,, every attempt will be made to have 4 races, 2 in the morning and 2 after lunch.

                  The Region V Championship will be held Saturday and Sunday August 6 & 7, every attempt will be made to have 6 races across both days.

Schedule:         

Friday, August 5^th                 Womens’ Regatta

Waterfront continental breakfast will be served from 7:30am

            9:00                  Skipper’s meeting

            9:30                 Harbor gun

            10:00                1^st race

                                    2^nd race  - back to back

Lunch available at the club house – sandwich bar $8.00/per

            p.m. races        Harbor gun approximately 1:30

                                    ½ hour after harbor gun 3^rd race

                                    4^th race - back to back

Wine and cheese to accompany the awards  at the waterfront following the end of racing

Sailors may dine at the club house on a cash basis – reservations are essential, please indicate on the registration form the number of dinner reservations you require.

 

Saturday,  August 6^th       2005 Regional Championship

Waterfront continental breakfast will be served from 7:30am

            8:30                  Skipper’s meeting

            9:00                 Harbor gun

            9:30                  1st race

                                    2nd race to follow immediately

Lunch is available at the club house – sandwich bar $8.00/per

            p.m. races        Harbor gun approximately 1:30

                                    ½ hour after harbor gun 3^rd race

                                    4^th race - back to back

6:00 – 7:30        Cocktails on the club house porch with no charge beer keg

with entertainment  -  Caribbean music by the:

Dundee Steel Band

Dinner: 3 entrée buffet dinner including desert, served for Ensign sailors  6:30 – 8:00pm, $27.00 (incl. tx&grt.)./person

(children 12 & under ½ price). Please indicate on the registration form how many buffet dinners you would like.

 

Sunday, August 7^th

            9:00 a.m.          Harbor gun

            9:30                  1^st race start

                                    2^nd  race back to back

Awards on club house porch after last race approximately  1:30pm

Lunch is available at the club house

Entry Fee:   Women’s Regatta - $30 US - US Sailing  members will be given a $5 discount off this price for $25 total.

                  Region V Championship -  $50 US - US Sailing  members will be given a $5 discount off this price for $45 total.

Accommodations: CYC has plenty of good camping space available; register at the club. Several area hotels

Eligibility:    All woman team required for Women’s Regatta – non-participating coach is permitted on board.

                  Ensign Class membership must be valid for Region V Championship.

                  Not necessary for same number of crew in each race for Region V Championship.

 

Authority:     This regatta shall be governed by the applicable IYRU rules as adopted by US Sailing and the Ensign class rules. The series will be scored as provided in Appendix A of the racing rules using the Low Point System.
