Crewing Opportunities
The Canandaigua Yacht Club maintains an active racing program on Sundays throughout the summer from May through October. There are always opportunities for people who would like to crew. There are also opportunities to crew in a cruising mode, for those who would just like to find out what it is all about, or to simply sail and/or learn, not necessarily race.

Whether you are experienced or not, if you would like to do some sailing on Canandaigua Lake, send us email (that's webmaster@sailcyc.com) with the subject "crewing". Tell us something about yourself, and what you would like to do. Be sure to include your name, telephone contact, email address, sailing experience, and what you are looking for.

As this page builds up over time, your listing will be posted here under "Crew looking for boat" and skippers who are looking for crew will contact you. Please feel free to print this page and post it on the bulletin board at work or school.

SKIPPERS!

You can post here too. Send email with the subject "crew wanted", stating how much experience you are looking for, what kind of boat, days you need crew, your phone number, email address if you have one, snail mail to George Nix or Roger Bardwell if you don't. Your listing will be posted here unde"Boat looking for crew".

Many J/24's - (the largest one design fleet actively racing out of CYC) are seeking a few good humored, fun, experienced or eager-to-learn sailors for Sunday mornings 8:30am - 12pm and a few traveling regattas during the 2008 sailing season (starting in May and ending in Oct.)
please EMAIL.

JI am looking for people that are interested in trying Shark catamaran sailing, and am willing to train interested people in sailing cats.

Crew looking for Boat

I'm a member of CYC interested in crewing probably in cruising situations--My left arm is strong and able, right one in sling at moment. (hence we haven't launched our Typhoon, "Sophie")

If anyone needs fairly experienced one-handed crew, (with possible addition of enthusiastic and pretty well mannered 6 1/2 year old son Benjamin) please contact:

Looking to rent a sunfish or crew. My husband is an advanced sailor (has taught sailing lessons and professionally crewed). I am not so advanced (experience limited to sailing to the Vineyard, Nantucket, Block, etc for the past few years). Available weekends, some weekdays. We can be reached at 315-573-4295 or via email at gingernoiseux@yahoo.com or billlangfield@yahoo.com

I'm a new member at CYC. My sailing experience is mainly in dinghies and from sailing lessons last summer where we used Sunfish. I am interested in crewing on almost any single hulled boat to help build my skills and experience. J-24's, Ensign's, Flying Dutchman or daysailors are all of interest.

My name is Barbara Strait and I'd love to learn how to sail by crewing for either racing or cruising. I've been on a couple sail boats but really have no experience. I spend my winters teaching skiing at Bristol Mountain and also doing sales/marketing for them. Would love to just meet some new people and learn how to sail! I live right in Canandaigua.
